Stephen J. Saunders
Steve is a Senior Analyst and brings more than a decade of experience in equity research, portfolio management, and financial statement analysis to Biegel Waller. His skill set significantly adds to our research, due diligence, and quantitative modeling processes. He is a member of the investment committee and manages client portfolios.
Steve joined Biegel Waller in 2015 after twelve years of managing portfolios for institutional and individual clients, including former c-level Wall Street executives. He was the Director of Research for Cacti Asset Management based in Atlanta, GA and a Senior Analyst for GARP Research. Steve began his career in Special Situations consulting with PricewaterhouseCoopers and FTI Consulting.
His past experience serving financial services executives as clients led him to seek a firm that invested thoughtfully. “Biegel Waller’s portfolios exhibit a rational, disciplined and long-term philosophy. My previous firms were founded on these principals, which are surprisingly under-represented in our industry. I was very encouraged to find a group with such a robust investment approach.”
Beyond his passion for the markets, Steve had the unique experience of playing soccer at both Penn State and professionally in Germany. Through soccer and writing his undergraduate thesis on emerging market currencies, he has traveled extensively throughout Western and Eastern Europe giving him an insightful global perspective. His love for sports extends to coaching athletic teams for his identical twin sons. When not in the office or the sidelines he is active on the Severn River boating, crabbing and fishing.
